Week 16 - The Heat is Building!

This has been a busy week so I didn't spend as much time with my pepper plants. A couple days ago I did notice the odd shaped plant suddenly looked thin and sickly. Well, as I was taking photos for this blog post I counted somewhere around 47 peppers - nearly twice as many as last week! And they aren't just new tiny ones. Most of them are at least a couple inches in length. Perhaps even more exciting, I am finally seeing red!!! Take a look for yourself.

The "sickly" looking pepper plant is in high gear production mode!

This plant is still the pepper leader - now with over 50 peppers. It's more difficult than you think to get an exact count!

Slow and steady she grows. Very different from the other two plants, this one is tall and thin with only a few peppers. There are flowers, but not a ton.

I see red!!! What a beautiful sight!

Many large peppers.

Now up to 23" on the tallest plant (1/2" since last week).

Al three plants.

It's been a while since I've shot some close-us of the herbs, so here we go. After harvesting all the untainted Basil leaves for Chicken Parmigiana on Saturday I decided to pull the Basil from the garden. I'll plant more once the peppers are gone.

Sage.

Oregano.

Rosemary. After little change in the past two weeks or so it looks like the two larger plants are ready to bolt. The third one just popped up this week, over 7 weeks after the seeds were planted! I will be thinning to a single plant.

Parsley.

Thyme is going wild! I need to harvest!

Spearmint, flowering away.

The entire garden.
